Mr Ashmore – Calpe

Enclosing an outside naya with glass curtains

Although we live in a beautiful sunny spot, with panoramic views of Calpe, it can get a little breezy up here in the mountains.  We have had an outside naya since we bought the property, but decided to enclose it with glass curtains for three reasons – to keep the villa warmer in winter, to protect us from the Northerly breeze and to give us more space.

Actually, we toyed with the idea a couple of years ago when Mike Creese came over and gave us some suggestions.  I was familiar with Crystal Windows as a well established company here on the Costa Blanca and Mike gave me the confidence that our expectations were going to be met.

Initially Mike came to us to give us a quote and then John came along to do the survey.  When it had been manufactured, we saw it laid out at their factory.  It was quite interesting to see that before they came to fit it, which took the fitters about 3 days in total.

It was quite a complicated job to install it as they had to cut it into the existing floor and the aluminium fitting were cut by hand.

We are delighted with the outcome.  We keep our beautiful views, even in the winter!  We can sit out in the naya even on the coldest of days and still enjoy the views.  We leave it open all summer and when it’s really breezy, we can shut off part of the naya to protect us from the wind.

We’re really impressed with the 10 year guarantee – but to be honest, there’s not a lot that can go wrong with the installation.  You can slam the doors as they’re pretty indestructable and the sliding system is easy to operate.  In fact, John and his team have developed their own mechanisms for their glass curtains that works really well.

Very, very pleased with our decision to use Crystal Windows!
