WITH AGREEING/SIGNING THE CONTRACT YOU ACCEPT THE TERMS &
CONDITIONS
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PROCEDURE:
1. Generally, within 2-3 days your order will be surveyed.
2. Within 7-10 working days of survey or when all queries are clarified and
payment of the 50% deposit has been made, you will receive a target week of
installation which would be confirmed as convenient by yourselves.
3. The week before your installation you will receive a call / email to confirm your
date of installation.
GENERAL
1. All products and fitting will be as shown on your contract unless changed and
agreed at survey stage.
2. All lead times are calculated as commencing once ALL CONTRACT DETAILS
have been agreed, MEASURED and 50% DEPOSIT RECEIVED and TERMS
and CONDITIONS SIGNED and RETURNED.
3. After the survey stage, all communications must be directed as follows please:
– Construction, specification, details changes – to company surveyor
– Date, availability and lead times – to company secretary, email:

– Costings – to the Sales Representative appointed to you
– Remedial or work under guarantee – to company secretary, email
info@crystalwindows-spain.com

4. Where brickwork is to be removed from above a window to allow for new
Persiana boxes, quotation costs are based on ordinary brickwork removal.
Where brickwork is to be removed in any part of the building, it is estimated on
a standard wall, if concrete fill, pipes or electrics are encountered where this
cannot be foreseen, a reasonable extra charge will be applicable.
5. Where a lintel is encountered, an additional cost will be charged at + €65 +
IVA depending on the size and time to rectify.
6. Crystal Windows are not responsible for obtaining planning permission and
rules vary from area to area, however we will advise and, if necessary, apply
for permission for a very reasonable fee.
7. Where a contract has been installed or delivered but various elements outside
the control of Crystal Windows have not arrived, payment will be required at
this point to the value of the contract less a reasonable amount to cover the
cost of the missing item(s) which will be rectified when we receive the
elements from our suppliers.
8. In case Crystal Windows need to discuss any point of the installation, it is very
important that the client is available at all times during the installation (even if
this is via mobile phone) and at finishing/handover of the installation in order
for us to fully explain the mechanisms of the installation and our 10-year
guarantee.
9. In the case of supply only contracts sizes given to Crystal are the responsibility
of the client.
10. Although Crystal will always endeavour to meet the installation dates wether
and or the unforeseen complexity of previous installation may affect these
dates and sometimes a completely new date may have to be organized,
obviously any inconvenience is outside of our control. Crystal will make good
any plastering/pointing etc. but are not responsible for painting. Gotelé is
considered a paint finish, so we will attempt to patch/repair, this is a courtesy
to the client.
11. Where building work and/or plastering will be done as part of the installation,
please remember to prepare your home accordingly we have our own dust
sheets and will help move any heavy items
TECHNICAL
Glass Curtains
Please make sure that the leaves of your glass curtains are key locked first
before opening. It is very important to ensure that all leaves are correctly pushed
tight together before opening and closing the first leaf.

Folding Doors
Please ensure that all leaves are out of their track before sliding open or close.
Sliding Doors
Please ensure that the lever for secondary leaf lock is closed flat in its recess
before opening the main leaf. Damage may occur otherwise, which is not
covered under our guarantee.
It is not advisable to attempt to save existing window frames as to do so results in
much more damage to the walls and surfaces. This could result in additional
charges. However, leaves can be easily saved, if necessary.
GLAZING
In the UK, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) have strict regulations over
the use of safety glass, i.e., in doors, glass next to doors and glass in wet rooms
etc – even down to low levels. In Spain, some rules do exist but they are never
insisted upon.
At Crystal Windows, our quotes are based on standard double glazing of 4mm
glass airspace (unless otherwise stated). If at survey, where a true approbation
can be gained and we feel that there is a pressing case for safety glass, this can
be provided as a cost option.
NB We can always provide a quote based on current GGF regulations if required
We use laminated glass instead of toughened glass as it is superior in safety and
resilience. It you feel you would like a costing for safety glass on a particular item,
please let us know.
Safety glass is fitted as ‘standard’ on any roof glazing (at least on the underside
pane), balustrades and glazed door panels.
Due to increased difficulties in Spain with spam, if you have not had a reply
to an important email within 48 hours, please contact us by telephone.
NOTE
Crystal Windows cannot be held responsible for changes of materials, such as
locking mechanisms, for instance, if our Suppliers can no longer deliver these
items.

Please note that all our products are on display in our showroom and factory.
The purpose of this is to show our clients exactly what will be detailed in their
contract.
INSURANCE COMPANIES
It must be noted that, unlike the UK, there are no insurance standards for locks
and glass etc. here in Spain, rather, each Insurance company have their own
criteria. Having said that, below are some general guidelines:
1. Most insurance companies will accept standard double glazing to be sufficient
in normal situations and locations.
2. Some insurance companies will insist on laminate glass in which case 3+3 or
4+4 laminate should suffice.
3. Some insurance companies insist on laminate glass where existing metal
rejas are to be removed.
4. If, in any scenario, the insurance company insists on 6+6 laminate glass, we
believe, in the best interest of the client, that they should look for another
insurance company. This is an industry ‘sign’ of insurers not wanting to pay
out.
IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE
COMPANY VISIT YOUR PROPERTY IN ORDER TO AGREE AND
CONFIRM THE SITUATION IS ACCEPTABLE.
NB We are not aware of criteria for locks but all our devices
contain high security locking systems.
PAYMENT
Payment terms to Crystal:
50% deposit
40% prior to installation
10% on last installation day
-All contracts require a deposit of 50% before they can go through to production
stage.

– installation will be realized after the second payment of 40%
All outstanding balances are to be paid to our fitting teams on last installation
day. Should there be the rare occasion that something is not finished or delayed,
our Accounts Department will inform the client to hold onto an appropriate valued
amount until completion of the installation.
New Legislation on Data Protection
Due to the imminent application of the new legislation on data protection (Regulation
(EU) 2016/679, of April 27, General of Data Protection or RGPD) we have updated
our privacy policy to adapt it to the new legal requirements.
In this regard we inform you that we only treat the data of those people with whom
we have a relationship, either because they are customers, suppliers or in some way
linked by a contractual relationship with us.
Your data may be communicated to companies of the same group and to third
parties when it is necessary to provide the service you have requested or in
compliance with our legal obligations.
We will keep your data for as long as it is necessary to provide the services and / or
products that you have requested and, once this commercial relationship is
concluded, we will keep them for the time required by the applicable legislation.
