New Windows, Doors, Enclosed Naya and Concertina Doors
We have lived here for 16 years and have raised our 2 daughters here in Denia. As they are getting older – one has gone off to University this year, we decided that it was time to give the house that we all love, a bit of ‘TLC’. We wanted to modernise it and make it ready for us to live comfortably in when we near to retirement. There has been a lot to do, and we are still a bit of a ‘work in progress’, but the first thing we had to do was to replace the windows and doors.
We decided on Crystal Windows for many reasons . We had 3 quotes altogether, but John and his team were the only ones that actually answered our questions professionally and gave us the confidence in going ahead with them.
We had obviously heard of Crystal Windows before and from recommendations from friends, we decided that they were the company to do the job for us.
We originally had an outside naya, which we only used in the summer time. We were thinking of just replacing the double doors to the naya until John came up with a great idea of having glass concertina doors to the naya from the lounge and to fill in the arches with curved doors.
What a difference it’s made – the lounge was always really dark, but with the new glass concertina doors, light comes flooding into what was initially a cold and dark space. Also, we now, effectively have another room since we’ve enclosed the outside naya, It’s now used all year round, and has become the dining room, both in summer and winter.
The other thing that’s struck us since we’ve had the replacement windows and doors is how much warmer the lounge is in the winter. The Low E Glass that is fitted as standard, reflects the ambient temperature back into the room, which has made the lounge a lot more comfortable. Before we had new windows fitted, we were forever wiping the condensation off them in the morning, but I can honestly say that we simply don’t suffer with this problem anymore.
Our living space is bigger than it was and with the new concertina doors in place, it’s opened up the view from the lounge which we never had before.
This was a big project – every room in the house had replacement windows or doors. John oversaw the project personally to make sure that the installation went according to plan and on time.
An outside wall had to be removed before the glass doors could be fitted, but Crystal made the entire space as secure as possible and fitted their installation around when we were here. They were always on hand to answer any questions we had throughout the process.
We even had mosquito nets fitted to our gazebo – a place that we all use a lot, and that has made a massive difference to our comfort when we use it.
If there was anything that wasn’t quite right – we noticed a scratch on the glass on one of the doors, it was no problem for Crystal to replace it – no grumbles. In fact, I would say that their after sales service was excellent.
I would recommend Crystal Windows to anyone who is thinking about replacing their existing windows and doors. John’s got some great ideas, that we would never have thought of, and it’s down to him and his creativity that we have got more light, more space and comfort that we ever considered possible.
A job well done, guys! Thank you
